Catherine

Founder & Senior Clinician @ The Edge Counselling - Subiaco Practice Perth

As the Founder and Senior Psychotherapist at The Edge Counselling, I have dedicated nearly 10 years to helping individuals and couples navigate challenging times and build stronger, more fulfilling relationships and lives.

As an experienced and ACA registered couples counsellor, relationship coach, and author, I am passionate about empowering my clients to overcome obstacles, foster deeper connections, and create lasting change.

I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can openly explore their emotions, improve communication, and strengthen their bonds. Whether you’re facing a relationship or personal crisis or looking to enhance the quality of your partnership, my approach is grounded in compassion, evidence-based methodologies, and years of professional experience.

When working with couples, I draw from proven techniques such as the Prepare/Enrich program and Gottman methods to tailor my support to each couple’s unique needs. My work covers a range of relationship issues, including communication, intimacy challenges, conflict resolution, and trust repair, always with the goal of helping couples not just survive but thrive together.

My commitment to relationship education also drives my current projects, which include the recent release of my new book!

If you’re ready to transform your relationship, or are interested in powerful change as an individual, I would love the opportunity to collaborate and see you thrive!

Youth Counsellor @ The Edge Counselling - Online Services Perth

I’m proud to share that my daughter, Cameron Mae Christie, is part of our family-run practice at The Edge Counselling. Cameron holds a Bachelor of Science (Psychology), a Working With Children Check (WWCC), and brings over four years of hands-on professional experience supporting young people and families.

She has worked extensively in the NDIS sector as a psychosocial recovery coach and carer, supporting clients across a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs.

Cameron combines professional training with lived experience and a natural ability to connect with teenagers. Many young clients report feeling instantly at ease with her calm, grounded presence. She understands firsthand the pressures facing today’s youth, including anxiety, depression, bullying, social media stress, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and school-related challenges. Her mentoring style is warm, steady, and practical, helping teens feel seen, supported, and capable.

Our practice is conveniently located near Bob Hawke College and Perth Modern School, making access easy for families in central Perth. Cameron works with young people aged 12 to 18, providing a safe space to unpack concerns, build coping skills, and strengthen emotional resilience.

Due to strong demand, Cameron has been fully booked and unable to accept new clients for the past six months. She has recently opened a limited Tuesday afternoon online availability to support a small number of new youth clients. She intentionally maintains a capped workload to ensure high-quality care and personalised attention.

Appointments are available via Zoom, and Cameron remains committed to ongoing professional development. If you’re seeking safe, structured support to help your child navigate adolescence and thrive at school and at home, we’re happy to work with you to find a suitable time. Early enquiry is recommended, as her availability fills quickly.

Get in touch – let’s collaborate!
